Twitter is one of the most popular social networking sites for teens and “web-hounds” today. In this review I am going to show you how to can sign-up for a Twitter Account, how to set-up your RSS Feed with WordPress and then give it a full blown review. Let’s get started…
How To
When you first go to Twitter, the page looks like this:
To get an account just click on
. From there, you will be taken to the Sign-Up Page.
On this page, just enter…
Your Username:

Youe Desired Password:
Your Email Address:
Whatever You Call This:
Whether or not you want email updates:
And then click “I accept. Create my account.”

Once you click “I accept. Create my account,” you will be taken here:
You can choose to fill-out this form, or skip it by clicking:
For the sake of the review, I will not send any invitations. The next thing you will want to do is fill-out your Profile Page like so:
To get here, just look at the top bar and click “Settings.” It should look like this:
Twitter is famous for it’s mobile updating from your mobile phone. You can set this up in settings as well. Be aware that Twitter will not pay for your Text Updates, nor will they charge you. Your phone company will charge you accordingly. If you happen to have one of those amazing Unlimited Text Messaging Plans, this should not be a problem…
Another page you might want to see while you are setting-up your profile is the “Notices” Page. Here, you can tell Twitter when to send you updates and how.
Another great feature of Twitter is the ability to customize the look of your Twitter Page. Just click design, and you will be taken here:

By default you will use the Twitter Default Theme. To customize this, just click on the bubble next to “Use my custom style below.” Then choose the colors you wish to use. If you want to change the background image to a color, make sure to uncheck the “Use Background Image” button. I made a random one really quickly for the sake of the review:
Now my Home Page looks like this:
Now, tell the world what you are doing at this moment in time:
WordPress + RSS
Now let’s set-up your RSS Feed with WordPress, so your readers can know what you are doing… On your Twitter Home Page, look down at the bottom left and click RSS.

If you are on a Mac, you will be taken here:
Copy the link, because you will need it later.
Sign into your Word-Press account and click on the
link. Then go to
. Add a RSS Widget and open up the editing pane. Fill-out the necessary information and Paste the link where you are told to.
Save you settings and check out your Blog’s Sidebar. Your widget will be displayed like this:
The Final Result
Twitter has many customizable features and is the best at mobile updating. There are many programs that have been made for Twitter, that add to it’s functionality. The only problem I have found while using Twitter is it’s lack of features. You are locked into telling people what you are doing, but that’s it. Other companies like Facebook have more than one company developing applications that make it’s functionality unlimited. If you have Facebook or any other social networking service and use it in collaboration with Twitter you will be extremely happy, but I fell Twitter on it’s own is a little blah…
